Could you give me some feedback on the introduction of my research paper?

An unforgettable leader of the United States is the 32nd president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He implemented many programs that helped bring our country out of its depression and pioneered efforts that helped the disabled. But what made him most memorable was the guidance of the nation during the Second World War. This made him the most highly respected man and president of the past. Roosevelt is still widely respected today for his heroic actions.Very unfortunately though, he suffered from Poliomyelitis, a very serious disease that paralyzes the body.
